The usb charging port can be selected to be an aux input if desired-a nice feature. The radio has a lithium battery that charges through a usb connection. It works great to pull in our funky public radio station that is always promising to improve their signal-and they never have. Once input, you can move the radio or the antenna until you find the strongest reception. This way you don't have to rely on the channel search feature to find what may be a marginal signal.
I particularly like the fact that the radio allows direct input of an FM frequency if desired. This has a very long telescoping antenna that pulls in stations that my boom boxes can't receive. Wow, am I impressed! This little device pushes out great sound for such a small, inexpensive product. I admit that I was skeptical of putting any faith on audio from an online file, but the price was such that I went ahead and ordered the radio. I was looking for a portable usb music player, and in seeing the video, I was impressed with the sound quality. I ordered this little radio/usb gadget after seeing a video review here on amazon. And the telescoping antenna ensures increased range and solid reception.
